Talk to An Untours Local Expert in Burgundy
In the words of our two Burgundy Untours Local Experts:
- Sherry: "I love the quiet pace, and subtle charm, the slow food style, the farmers' markets and the attention to the ephemeral. I like the sharing of an excellent bottle of Burgundy, the mastery and mystery of winemaking, the very fertile spiritual ground materialized by inspiring Romanesque and Gothic architecture, the last-stand attitude toward traditions, yet keen look toward the future as manifested by contemporary architecture and intelligent urban use of space"
- Alisa: "Dijon is a beautiful, architecturally rich and historically fascinating city. A former Dijon mayor during 6 terms (36 years!) eschewed progress and development. As a result Dijon remained untouched, authentic and charmingly Dijon. This lack of progress, combined with the current mayor's dynamic vision of the city, who has taken back medieval streets to pedestrians only, curtailed traffic into the city, just finished the dramatic renovation of the stellar Place de la Liberation (a rival to any major courtyard in Europe) and lit up the city at night enhancing her spectacular structures makes this a charming, authentic, cultural and extremely livable city
