Talk to a Local Expert in Santa Fe
Directly quoted from our Untours Local Expert, Shawna, and her answer to the question, "Why I Love Santa Fe"

"Santa Fe is on its own time. Santa Fe (or Fanta Se as some will refer to it as) is like entering another micro-country within the United States. This is a place where, overall, the people are concerned with the preservation and conservation of the land, its inhabitants and the history, living and past, of its evolution.

"It has a 'homey' metropolitan feel in an ancient land surrounded by the mountains and the vast, open desert. Some homes are made from the dirt of the Earth. Sustainability is a strong living concept here.

"People who live here and who tend to visit are more progressive than the mainstream. You can find open-minded, open-hearted, globally-conscious communities on a local and an international scale. Culture, History, Art and Health are merging into a new paradigm while preserving their roots in Santa Fe.

"This is a beautifully raw place that is very alive on many different levels. The community is socially, spiritually and politically active. I feel like people are evolving to truly become more human here. You can find an astrologer, a shaman, an activist, a farmer, a holistic practitioner, an artist, a scientist, an athlete, a dancer, a musician or a person of good heart all at the same market, eating traditional hatch green chili. The people here seem to crave the eclectic culture and the powerful lands and open skies that capture them, and lead them to call Santa Fe their HOME.

"There is clean air to breathe and there are plenty of outdoor activities to do year round."

A passionate Santa Fe citizen and Renaissance woman, Shawna is equally comfortable advising on outdoor recreation, the art scene, sustainable living and the wide range of spiritual, artistic and cultural communities that make Santa Fe fascinating. (Did we mention that she is, among many things, a fire dancer? But don't let that scare you.) She is also very easy to talk to, incredibly knowledgeable and she promises not to dance while offering you great advice on your trip to Santa Fe.
